The offer of manufacturers is extremely wide. So which powerbank to choose?

Capacity of a powerbank - what exactly should it be?

Capacity is the most important parameter you should pay attention to when buying a power bank. For its usefulness to be fully satisfactory it should allow at least for a double charging of our phone battery and one full charging of the tablet. So what capacity should it have?

It is assumed that for many people the minimum value will be 5000 - 6000 MAH. At the same time, however, it should be borne in mind that simple calculations do not always come true, because power bank is subject to spontaneous energy loss, which on average is about twenty percent.

Which devices can be charged with a power bank?

Basically, every power bank is equipped with at least two connectors. These are USB and microUSB. The microUSB is used to charge the power bank itself and the USB connector transfers the power to other devices. Although tablets and smartphones are most often mentioned, the catalogue is much broader and also includes music players, game consoles, digital cameras, smartwatches, car navigation and cameras.

The power bank comes with a USB-microUSB cable as standard. It allows you to charge most of the devices mentioned above. Please note that in case of Apple tablets and smartphones, i.e. iPads, you will need an adapter with Lightning connector.

With Powerbank you can charge the following devices: smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, cameras, digital cameras or camcorders.

Two USB ports in one powerbank - why are they marked differently?

Some of the powerbanks offer two USB ports. This solution turns out to be very practical, because it is possible to charge two devices at the same time. In such cases, they usually have different markings, like 1A and 2.1A. However, this is not without significance.

The markings and the casing - what exactly do they mean?

A power bank has been created in order to serve us mainly outside the house. Therefore, it should be characterized by relatively compact dimensions, as well as a relatively durable casing. The producers are becoming more and more aware of ecology and are moving away from artificial creations and, for example, are putting on aluminium. It is not only really more durable, but also provides a nice design for the eye. However, these are not the only options. We can also choose power banks with casing that is covered with soft rubber or material that resembles a bit leather.
